Brian Duensing needs to get right against the right
Brian Duensing
entered last night’s start owning the third-highest WHIP against right-handed
batters (1.63) – only surpassed by San Francisco’s Jonathan Sanchez (1.64) and
Detroit’s Phil Coke (1.77) – in 2011.
This is not
any accident of sample size either, as including last season the Twins’
left-hander has the fourth-highest WHIP among qualified starters. It is an...

What role should Duensing have in '11?
Assuming the Twins correctly decide to keep Francisco Liriano in a Twins uniform, the biggest story line this spring will be how the team opts to fill five rotation spots with six pitchers.
Liriano and Carl Pavano have earned themselves the number one and number two spots while the size of Scott Baker and Nick Blackburn’s contracts may have provided them even chance to blow a...

Twins to Use Brian Duensing in Relief?
The Minnesota Twins have won the AL Central two years running, but they face the 2011 season without many key members of a previously outstanding bullpen. Even with the return of closer Joe Nathan, the Twins will be without the services of Jon Rauch, Brian Fuentes, Matt Guerrier, and Jesse Crain; all of whom left via free agency.
The Twins retained Matt Capps, who closed last...
