Philadelphia Phillies Will Not Place Catcher Carlos Ruiz on Disabled List
Carlos Ruiz has missed eight consecutive games for the Philadelphia Phillies because of back soreness, but the team said that he will not go on the disabled list.
Brian Schneider and Dane Sardinha have been filling in for Ruiz in his absence. Ruiz will try to catch a bullpen session on Sunday.

Philadelphia Phillies May Have to Put Carlos Ruiz on Disabled List
Carlos Ruiz is not recovering from his back injury as quickly as the team hoped, announced general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr.
Ruiz has not played the last six games after straining his back. Brian Schneider has been filling in for Ruiz and Dane Sardinha was recently brought up from Triple-A to be the team’s backup.

Carlos Ruiz Won’t Go On DL; Philadelphia Phillies Still May Add Third Catcher to Active Roster
After suffering a back injury last night, Carlos Ruiz was taken out of the game after just one at-bat. The Phillies announced Ruiz won’t need to go on the DL, but the team still may add a third catcher to the active roster for insurance.
The addition will be either Dane Sardinha or Erik Kratz from Triple-A.
