The Orioles have apparently signed 33 year-old right-handed relief pitcher Chong Tae-Hyon to a two-year, $3.2 M contract. This afternoon, the Orioles gave Tampa Bay a really good late-innings relief pitcher. Chad Bradford, the submarining righthander who can pitch just about every night, was dealt to Tampa for a player to be named later. He passed through waivers because he's owed about $4.5 million through 2009.

Rays Acquire Tampa reliever Chad Bradford
The Rays have claimed Tampa Bay's Chad Bradford from the Orioles for a player to be named later. Bradford is 3-3 with a 2.45 ERA in 40 innings of relief work. What makes him desirable is that he has pitched in 17 playoff games, pitched 15 1/3 innings for four different teams and has not given up a run.
