The Hiroshima Carp have signed infielder Chad Tracy to an approximately $1.3 million deal, according to The Chigoku Shimbun Online (via NPB Tracker’s Patrick Newman). There was a possibility that Tracy could have been back with the Florida Marlins.

New York Yankees sign infielder Chad Tracy

According to The Boston Globe (via Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com), the New York Yankees have signed infielder Chad Tracy. Tracy, 30, was designated for assignment and eventually released by the Chicago Cubs in late June. He will spend some time in the Minor Leagues and provide the Yankees the insurance of a corner infielder if the need arises.
