Chris Coste will be contributing to Comcast SportsNet for the Phillies Pregame Live and Postgame Live shows this season as an in-studio analyst.
Coste joined the major leagues in 2006 after an 11-season trek in the minor leagues. He batted .328 as a rookie, and was a key backup for three seasons, including the 2008 world championship team.
The Phillies released Coste early in the...

Coste situation confuses me...
The Mets signed Chris Coste to a split contract on Nov. 30, 2009 the plan as I understood it was for him to never been on the major league team. Being on the 40 man allowed him to accue service time and would make it easy to get called up, while not having to go through waivers out of camp. The plan as I understood it was for Coste to mentor Thole on defense and even after barajas...

Chris Coste is now dead to us
Scratch Chris Coste off your list of favorite former Phillies, he has gone to the dark side. Coste, who spent 3 plus years with the Phillies before being waived and playing for the Astros last season, has signed with the New York Mets. There is no guarantee that Coste will actually play any games with the Mets, however, as he was only given a spot on the 40 man roster and not given...

The Coste of Doing Business?
The Cubs placed catcher Geovany on the 15-day DL today with an oblique strain, retroactive to last Tuesday. Soto suffered the inujury taking batting prractice before Tuesday's game at Wrigley Field.
It appears that Soto's injury is worse than orginialy thought, and he could be out until some time in August. And with the way oblique strains can affect hitting, he...

Chris Coste released, claimed by Astros
The writing was on the wall. Chris Coste had to know that the Phillies, who were keeping three catchers on their roster for some inexplicable reason, were eventually going to get rid of him. Coste hadn't started a game since June 27th and was relegated to pinch hitting duty, getting only two at-bats so far in July. He had to know that, sooner or later, he was going to be on...

Hating the Mets
Today's post on the blog- http://pabaseball.blogspot.com - has a nice Youtube video of Phils Phans chanting obscenities about the Mets and New York in general. Also in the article are some nice links to anti-Mets sentiment as well as this blurb from Epic Carnival about the Mets being America's #9 hated sports franchise- "Half of the New York populace can't stand...

The 33-Year-Old Rookie
A call-in from Phillie fan favorite Chris Coste was being hyped by the WIP Morning Show. They noted that the catcher "sniffs his own bat after a good hard hit."
He's either got himself an interesting on-field habit or he is a sick well-endowed freak.
