Mets Sign Swingman Chuck James
On Tuesday, general manager Sandy Alderson said he wanted to add some rotation depth as insurance in case Johan Santana isn’t ready to start the season.

Mets sign Chuck James
The Mets announced they have signed lefthander Chuck James to a minor league contract and invited him to Spring Training.
James, 30, split last season between the Twins and their Triple A affiliate in Rochester. He appeared in eight games for Minnesota, posting a 6.10 ERA in 10.1 innings. He was 3-2 in the minors with one save and a 2.30 ERA in 38 games.

James happy to be back in big leagues
Chuck James admitted it's been a "long road" back to the Majors. The left-hander last pitched in the big leagues in 2008 with the Braves.

Braves non-tendered Chuck James
The Atlanta Braves have cut ties with left handed pitcher Chuck James. James won 22 games between 2006 and 2007 before suffering though shoulder troubles last season.
It ends a six year relationship between the team and the Atlanta native. The organization had long soured on him and fans were frustrated with his non-progression.
