This afternoon the Mets lost the game 6-5 (box score), the series 2-1, and Jose Reyes and Dan Murphy for probably 15, each. It was a horrible afternoon in the city.

Mets Hammer Reds 8-2, Murphy is Awesome
Tonight the Mets took the 4 game set from the Red defeating them 8-2 (box score) and setting themselves up for a four game sweep tomorrow afternoon.
The proof was in the pudding tonight. Stats tell the story…
Mike Pelfrey tossed a complete game while giving up 7 hits, two runs, and striking out three batters…Well done Big Pelf.

Dan Murphy is out 2-6 weeks with a knee injury, for anyone watching yesterday it really didn't appear that he did much and if anything it looked like he rolled his ankle.
