Early Look at the Pittsburgh Pirates 2015 Payroll
Last week I took an early look at the 2013 payroll, and followed that up with an early look at the 2014 payroll. The purpose of the looks is to see if the Pittsburgh Pirates project to have payroll space in the future for a big contract, such as a multi-year deal for Edwin Jackson. Ohlendorf to the DL, Daniel McCutchen Recalled
The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Ross Ohlendorf on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder strain, and have recalled right handed pitcher Daniel McCutchen from Indianapolis. Game 79: McCutchen Beats Dinged Up Phils

Daniel McCutchen to start Saturday?
The Pittsburgh Pirates still don't have a starter for Saturday, although it's looking more and more like that starter will be Daniel McCutchen. Charlie Morton would be the only other option, but Morton is scheduled to start tonight for Indianapolis. INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS (AAA)
Indianapolis won 4-1, thanks to a solid start from Daniel McCutchen. McCutchen pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits, with two walks and three strikeouts.
