Is Darren Ford Overhyped?
The excitement surrounding Darren Ford's callup has been an interesting one. His speed has helped the Giants win games, and has made him a minor celebrity in San Francisco Giant fans twitter circles (type in #darrenfordissofast and you'll get a bunch of "Chuck Norris-esque" lines).
Furthermore, his speed and athleticism has also convinced a lot of Giants fans...

Darren Ford receives a key to the city (and get out of jail free card, too)
Mayor Romano with Darren Ford.
I'm a Darren Ford fan. I really am. I lobbied for him to get playing time when Andres Torres went down with appendicitis. He never really got much. I advocated adding him to the 25-man playoff roster in case the Giants needed a weapon on the base paths. Shot down again.
But there's obviously an even bigger Ford fan than...

Memo to Bruce Bochy: Give Ford a Shot
Ford can probably hit the gaps at AT&T Park better than Rowand.
I've always been a Chevy guy, myself. But today, I'm all about the Ford. Darren Ford, that is.
Now that Giants' defensive whiz and offensive catalyst Andres Torres is out for the regular season (and possibly longer), there's a gaping hole in San Francisco's lineup. And an even larger...
