Some rookies that got their big league chance last year were Darwin Barney, Dustin Ackley, Jason Kipnis, and Jemile Weeks. They all bring a slightly different game to the table than the others and provide an option should u pass on the big...

Darwin Barney's Pacific Coast League (PCL) Strain
When Darwin Barney went on the DL this week straining "the other" cruciate or posterior cruciate (PCL) knee ligament. I'm sure the Cubs called Iowa Cubs manager Bill Dancy to let him know that his Pacific Coast League (PCL) Iowa team might shortly be getting another middle infielder on rehab assignment for his lineup. Barney sustained the injury to his right knee on the play at...

Is Darwin Barney the Best Story on the Cubs This Year?
He’s a bubble-gum chewing, baseball-smacking Portland phenomenon. Only, now, he’s in Chicago. Darwin Barney has instantly won over the hearts of Chicago Cubs fans around the country with his hustle, drive and child-like innocence. Chicago Cubs second baseman Darwin Barney throws out Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Casey Blake during the first inning at Wrigley [...]

The Cubs would be crazy to trade Darwin Barney
Recently I was reading the “Inbox” segment by Cubs beat reporter Carrie Muskat. The first question that was asked was regarding the Cubs trading Darwin Barney. Well- At Least The Cubs Will See a Youthful September
The Chicago Cubs have started to go the youth route to finish the year. Darwin Barney was brought up as he’ll join the other rookies the Cubs are looking at. My guess is- it won’t end there. With nothing to play for, I’m actually excited to see some of the youth come to Wrigley to showcase their talents for next year…or dare I say…another organization...
