The Reds have signed former Cardinals Top 5 prospect Daryl Jones. He isn’t quite the same prospect as he once was, as his speed isn’t thought to be enough to stay in center or have quite the bat for the corner. He seems a little like a Chris Dickerson type of prospect, with slightly less speed and a little less arm.
Usually a topic reserved for Wednesday gets pushed to Thursday...

Reds Ink Former Cardinal
Cincinnati signed outfielder Daryl Jones on Wednesday.
A former third-round selection by St. Louis in 2005, the 24-year old hit .260/.360/.400 with 7 homers, 35 RBI, and 12 doubles splitting time between Springfield (AA) and Memphis (AAA) last year.

More 40 Man Roster Moves
The Cardinals made more yet moves today to adjust their 40-man roster before the Rule 5 draft.
Added: Tony Cruz, Blake King
Removed: Nick Stavinoha, Adam Ottavino, Steve Hill and Daryl Jones. All four are “outrighted” to Memphis and available for the Rule 5 draft.
