Washington Nationals actively pursuing 1B Derrek Lee
According to a baseball source close to Bill Ladson of MLB.com, the Washington Nationals are “actively” pursuing free agent first baseman Derek Lee. Washington is seeking a replacement for Adam Dunn. Dunn left as a free agent this winter and signed with the Chicago White Sox.

Derek Lee leaves game with injury.
Derek Lee has been removed from tonight’s game with what is described as a “mild, right side strain.” It is not thought to be very serious.
With that in mind, Freddie Freeman has hit .427 in the month of August with 4 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has raised his average for the year to .324 with 18 home runs and 87 RBIs. Just a matter of time until he joins the Braves...

Cubs Fan Passes Young Son A Beer At Wrigley
What the heck is up with kids and beer over the past few days? Now we don't know for sure if this a cerveza or not, but I'm with HRD....I think we can say this kid is throwing one back during the Cubs-Giants game yesterday. I have to say, intentional or not, I'm with Derek Lee on this one. Anytime you nearly get blasted in the face with a pitch, I think it's fair game to charge the mound. That being said, what a sorry attempt at a punch from both Lee and Young. They both whiffed pretty bad; maybe they'd be better off going for the Ric Flair chop on each other.
