The A's signed right-hander Edgar Gonzalez to a minor league deal, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports (on Twitter). The 28-year-old appeared in one game with the Rockies in 2011, but spent most of the season at Triple-A. He posted a 5.00 ERA with 5.9 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 in 133 1/3 innings for the top affiliates of the Rays and Rockies.

Rockies designate Edgar Gonzalez for assignment
The Colorado Rockies have designated Edgar Gonzalez for assignment according to the team's official Twitter account. Left handed pitcher J.C. Romero will be taking his roster spot.
A couple of days ago, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reported that Romero was scheduled to see a doctor and that if all went well he could be active for today's game.

The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to a Minor League deal with right handed pitcher Lance Cormier according to Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times.
