It was reported on Friday that the Mets had re-signed Elmer Dessens to a minor league deal. Dessens had a solid year in the minors and for the short amount of time he spent in the majors. On a minor league deal there really isn't a risk, if he pitches well you have an inexpensive reliever and if he struggles then he's cut or in the minors. There have also been some grumblings...
