Dodgers officially sign Gabe Kapler to a Minor League deal
According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers have officially signed veteran outfielder Gabe Kapler to a Minor League deal. The deal will include an invitation to the Major League Spring Training.
The 34-year old Kapler played 59 games in 2010 with the Rays. He hit .210/.288/.290 with 2 HR's and 14 RBI's.

Dodgers close to a Minor League deal with Gabe Kapler
In a Tweet by the Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez, he mentions the Dodgers are close to signing Gabe Kapler to a Minor League deal.
The 35-year-old Gabe Kapler hit .210/.288/.290 with 8 home runs and 32 RBIs in 59 games for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010. Kapler has experience in all three outfield positions, so he can give the Dodgers the depth that they need.

What Happened To Gabe Kapler?
On August 16, the Rays needed a roster spot for Carlos Pena who was coming off the DL. Gabe Kapler walked into the trainer’s room and came out with a sprained ankle and a trip to the DL.
Many (including us) assumed that “sprained ankle” was code for “sprained left roster spot,” and that he would return on September 1 when rosters expanded.
But September 1 came and went...

Ruggiano Called up After Kapler Lands On DL
Justin Ruggiano was called up after Gabe Kapler landed on the 15-day DL with a hip flexor strain. Prior to being called up, Ruggiano was hitting .291 with four home runs, 19 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases in 44 games.
