Orioles have been unable to trade Jake Fox

According to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles have been trying to trade Jake Fox since he was designated for assignment, but they haven't been successful. The 10-day mark for them to make a decision on Fox is Saturday and they will probably have to pass him through outright waivers. Jake Fox Rumors: Baltimore Orioles interested in acquiring Fox from Oakland Athletics

Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun says the Orioles have discussed acquiring catcher-first baseman Jake Fox from the Oakland Athlatics. Fox was designated for assignment by the A’s on Sunday. Zrebiec says that if the Orioles add Fox, it probably means the end for Garrett Atkins in Baltimore. Fox was hitting .264/.237/.591 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in 38 games for the Athletics in 2010.

Jake Fox designated for assignment by Oakland Athletics

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle says that the Oakland Athletics have designated Jake Fox for assignment. Fox told Jane Lee of MLB.com that he was not too surprised by the move. “I never showed them what I can do,” he said. Fox hit .264/.237/.591 in 38 games for the Athletics in 2010.
