Indians Interested In Gobble, Not Ryan
Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says that the Indians are not interested in signing BJ Ryan even though they nearly signed him four years ago. Instead, he says the Indians are interested in Jimmy Gobble, who was just designated for assignment by the White Sox. If the Indians do acquire Gobble, Hoynes says he would be assigned to AAA. The White Sox designated pitcher Jimmy Gobble for assignment, according to Dan McCaleb of the Northwest Herald. They signed him to a minor league deal back in April, but he disappointed in 12 innings. The 27-year-old lefty allowed 14 hits and seven walks, striking out ten.

White Sox Option Contreras
After clearing waivers, the White Sox optioned Jose Contreras to Triple-A Charlotte to work out some command issues he has been struggling with. Contreras is 0-5 with a 8.19 ERA in six starts this season, and has made it past the sixth inning just once.
The White Sox called up Jimmy Gobble in his place.

Mets sign Takahashi.....
I'm not really sure why but the Mets have liked Ken Takahashi all off-season, at one point it was believed they were the front runners to sign him. Takahashi ended up signing with the Blue Jays but after pitching in one game he injured himself and the Jays ended up releasing him.Mets have swooped in and signed him to a minor league deal. Jimmy Goble's disastrous inning
