Brewers trade 3B McGehee to Pirates for RHP Veras
The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired third baseman Casey McGehee from the Milwaukee Brewers in a trade for reliever Jose Veras.
The move came hours after the Brewers agreed to terms with free-agent third baseman Aramis Ramirez on Monday.

Pirates trade Jose Veras to Brewers for Casey McGehee
The Pirates and Brewers swapped 2 non-tender candidates this evening when reliever Jose Veras was shipped out to Milwaukee for 3B Casey McGehee.
Jose Veras served as the club’s 8th inning man for most of the year last year as he posted a 3.80 ERA in 71 innings. He struck out 79 and walked 34. Veras was eligible for arbitration and was set to make around $2.5 million.

Marlins Designate RHP Jose Veras For Assignment
The Florida Marlins have designated hard-throwing righty reliever Jose Veras for assignment.
They had seen enough of the former Yankees and Indians pitcher after he allowed eight runs, seven hits, and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Veras did strike out six batters.
The righthander owns a career 4.80 ERA in 133 innings over 132 games from 2006-2010.

Tom Rock is reporting that the Yanks have traded Jose Veras to the Indians for cash.According to the Beacon Journal, the team announced that Veras will join Cleveland's 25-man roster in the next few days.I bet you he does well in Cleveland.Good luck Jose.
