SF Giants Rumors – Giants Sign An Insurance Starter
The San Francisco Giants beat writer Chris Haft said (in his blog) that the Giants have signed RHP Josh Banks to a Minor League deal.
Banks spent most of last season with the Houston Astros Triple-A team, finishing 9-12 with a 4.04 ERA in 27 starts.

Giants Sign Josh Banks To Minor League Deal
Count me in the column that likes this one more than the Suppan deal. Then again, that’s the equivilant of saying you like getting your balls mashed in a vice over having them diced in a blender – so who’s really counting, right?
The Giants rotation could be a bit taxed from the general heavy workload/high stress innings of last season in addition to the added postseason starts...

According to Alyson Footer of MLB.com, the Houston Astros have designated right-handed pitcher Josh Banks for assignment.
Banks, 27, was 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA in one start with the Astros this year.
