JOSH WILSON RUMORS & GOSSIP

Amidst hot streak, Brewers roster changes again

MILWAUKEE -- When Josh Wilson learned Wednesday that he would be joining a new team for the 10th time in seven seasons he hardly blinked. For the well-traveled infielder, change has become the norm.Wilson's latest move brought him from the desert to the Dairyland in an instant when the Brewers claimed him off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks, but the opportunity to join the...

The Diamondbacks announced they have designated infielder Josh Wilson for assignment to create room for Melvin Mora who was reactivated from the bereavement list. The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed infielder Josh Wilson to a Minor League contract, according to The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro. Wilson will report the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate in Reno. Mariners bring back Josh Wilson

Lost in the shuffle of Erik Bedard’s return and Jose Lopez getting shipped off to Colorado (more to come) was the announcement of Josh Wilson being brought back on a major league deal, for 1 year. My question is: Why? There’s enough to like about Josh Wilson from a fan’s perspective. He’s versatile, he’s got a cute nickname, he can play all over the infield, he’s a decent...

Jack Wilson and 2011

While it may not look so good in retrospect, the Mariners had the right idea when they signed Jack Wilson to a 2 year, 10 million dollar deal this winter. The 2010 club option attached to his previous contract was too pricey, and re-signing him for a couple of years on a reasonable deal was really the team’s best chance to hold down shortstop. However, it’s easy to see...

Wilson has experience on PETCO mound

Mariners shortstop Josh Wilson played in just 16 games for the Padres last season, but that was enough for him to be a part of one of the more rare and wacky moments of the 2009 season.

Is Josh Wilson for reals?

On June 19, 2009, when shortstop Josh Wilson was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Mariners, fans where absolutely…whelmed. Why would anyone care? He was last seen hitting .105 for the San Diego Padres; they were more than happy to let him go. Nearly a year later, on June 7, 2010, Wilson is batting .301/.357/.417, good for a .352 wOBA. UZR says that Wilson has saved 1.3 runs with...

Game 45, Tigers at Mariners

Verlander vs Fister, 7:10 pm. Credit where its due – we get the good line-up tonight. You might quibble with Saunders hitting behind Josh Wilson or something, but realistically, given this roster, this is the best team the Mariners can put on the field. Here’s to hoping they can put some runs on the board and convince Wak to stick with it going forward. Ichiro...
