Juan Uribe of the Los Angeles Dodgers needs season ending surgery
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without 31-year old righty swinging 2B/3B Juan Uribe for the rest of the season due to surgery to repair a left sports hernia. Uribe was signed to a 3-year, $21 million dollar deal over the winter and it’s looking like a big mistake so far. Uribe played in 77 games for the Dodgers this year and he was 55 for 270 (.204 avg, .557 OPS) with 21...

Juan Uribe has been a bust so far this year for the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers gave 31-year old righty swinging 2B/3B Juan Uribe a very nice contract over the winter. He played in 148 games for the Giants last year and he was 129 for 521 (.248 avg, .749 OPS) with 64 runs scored, 24 homers, 85 RBIs and 1 stolen base. The Dodgers figured that Uribe would give them some pop in the batting order while playing 2B for them. It just hasn’t worked...

"Emo Juan Uribe" Is On To Something
While most of us here at SoSG recognize Juan Uribe for his iPhone autocorrect to "Urine", SoSG regular Josh S. pointed out that Emo Juan Uribe has a more introspective take. There's a series of these tumblr shots at this point; they're off to a good start.

Juan Uribe is off to a very slow start for the Los Angeles Dodgers
Starting 2B Juan Uribe is off to a very slow start with the bat this year. He has played in 8 games for the Dodgers so far this year and he is 4 for 31 (.129 avg, .343 OPS) with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. The Dodgers need to quit jerking Uribe around and let him stay at 2B instead of using him at 3B too. That way he can get comfortable in the field and maybe that will bring back...

San Francisco Giants Present Juan Uribe with World Series Ring
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Juan Uribe received his 2010 World Series ring from the San Francisco Giants last night.
Previously, they had planned to give it to him privately, likely in the visitors’ clubhouse.
However, the Giants players objected, saying it should be done on the field for the fans’ sake, if nothing else.
Uribe came out of the visitors’ dugout...

Juan Uribe -- From fish fry wannabe to deadbeat tenant
Thanks to Daniel King for alerting me to this story, found in today's San Francisco Chronicle...
According to the Chron, former San Francisco Giants player Juan Uribe caused nearly $150,000 in damages to his San Francisco condo last year during a midnight fish fry, promised to pay for the damages, then skipped town.
Many Giants fans plan to boo Uribe loudly tonight, for...

Juan Uribe as an LA Dodger
Because I haven't really talked about it...
Yes, we could whine and complain that Juan Uribe has left the Giants for the most evil franchise in sports -- the Los Angeles Dodgers. But here are the facts...the guy helped bring us a championship. He had that awesome walk-off sac fly in Game Four of the NLCS, and the key home run in Game Six of the NLCS. Furthermore, because he...

Keith Law Prescribes To Giants' "Fluke" Theory, In Describing Uribe (And Questioning His New Contract)
From ESPN.com's Keith Law (insider only) his take on the Uribe deal (and look at the adjective he uses!):
• The Dodgers gave three years and $21 million to Juan Uribe, he of the .302 OBP (once you back out intentional walks) in 2010, a walk year in which he posted career highs in walks and home runs. Putting men on base was not a strength of the Dodgers before they added Uribe...
