Its Official: Cubs trade Kosuke Fukudome to Indians for two prospects
Updating an earlier post, the Cubs have traded outfielder Kosuke Fukudome (and about $3.9 million) to the Indians for prospects Abner Abreu and Carlton Smith.

Is Kosuke Fukudome getting Wally Pipp(ed) out of the leadoff spot?
With Kosuke Fukudome resting a sore hamstring the last few days, Cubs manager Mike Quade has used Starlin Castro as the leadoff hitter, with Darwin Barney hitting second. The experiment has been pretty successful, to say the least.

Kosuke Fukudome leading off? Say it ain't so!
When Carrie Muskat of MLB.com first reported that Mike Quade said that Kosuke Fukudome is the favorite to leadoff, I thought it was a misprint. Surely Quade wouldn't be seriously considering Fukudome as the leadoff hitter, the same Fukudome who, as Muskat points out, had a .193 average in the leadoff spot in 2010 and a career average of .233.
