Medlen Rehab On Track
In case you missed it, there’s a nice article on the ajc.com site about Kris Medlen’s recovery from e;bow surgery (read it here).
It appears that things are going very well at the four month mark post-surgery. In fact, he’s scheduled to begin throwing any day now. Assuming the recovery remains on track, the Braves will have some tough decisions to make about how...

Mike Minor enjoying similar success as Kris Medlen
Kris Medlen was doing a great job of keeping the Braves in games and putting up impressive pitching performances before he hurt his throwing elbow and had to undergo Tommy John surgery. Here are some interesting stats for you to think about:
Medlen pitched in 17 games as a reliever this season. The Braves were 7-10 when he pitched as a reliever. He had a 3.04 ERA as a reliever.
He...

Kris Medlen Diagnosis: Not Good
Ouch- The Atlanta Braves took a major hit as Kris Medlen was diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, that might require season ending Tommy John Surgery.
This is a big blow to the rotation as Kris Medlen has been real good as late. He’s started to dominate hitters at the big league level, and his numbers speak for themselves. The problem...

Braves Defeat Mets 8-3, Pitcher Kris Medlen Injured
Medlen was injured in the Braves 8-3 win over the Mets on Wednesday. Photo Courtesy of Tim Evearitt.
On most nights we would feel pretty good about an 8-3 victory, especially one where the Braves clubbed three home runs and won their first series in their last four tries. However, tonight there is a somber mood as Kris Medlen left the game with one out in the fifth inning with an...

Medlen Wins Starting Job; Heyward to DL
The Braves have made the decision to keep Kris Medlen in the rotation and send Kenshin Kawakami to the bullpen. Jair Jurrjens will start on Wednesday for the first time since April 29. It's only logical that Medlen remains a starter. He has pitched his way into the role and there's no way to justify sending him back to the bullpen.
However, I am curious to see how the...

Kris Medlen Is The Most Underrated Player on an Underrated Team
Kris Medlen is listed at 5'10'' and even that may be a stretch. His small stature and the fact that he played mostly shortstop at Santa Ana Junior College prior to being drafted had many questioning whether or not he could ever be a productive professional pitcher, which resulted in a 10th round draft selection in 2006.Despite the slights against him, Medlen dominated...

Medlen indifferent between starting and relieving
In a piece he wrote for this month's issue of Chop Talk magazine, Kris Medlen writes that he is indifferent between starting and relieving:I honestly don't have a preference between starting and relieving. I like pitching. I'm a versatile guy, and I just want to be in a position to help my team. I want the guys to trust me with that job. Honestly, this puff piece doesn...
