Ruiz Suffers Oblique Strain
Carlos Ruiz exited yesterday’s 10-3 loss to the
Rockies in the seventh inning with a right oblique strain. Ruiz
injured his oblique in the third inning when catching a pop fly in foul
territory.
Ruiz is listed as day-to-day, but the Phillies did have top catching prospect Lou Marson,

Phillies Trade For Catcher
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a catcher before the non-waiver trade deadline yesterday. Didn't hear about it? It was under the radar, so low in fact that the trade was for a player already on the Phils roster. The Phils swapped the old Carlos Ruiz in exchange for Chooch Ruiz. Yep, Chooch is back (9 for his last 29, .310). Ruiz was horrible offensively for most of the season...
