The Mets placed Nick Evans, Luis Hernandez and Pat Misch on waivers Monday, according to a baseball official who was not authorized to speak publicly because the process is secretive.

Luis Hernandez to be New York Mets’ Starting Second Baseman
When asked about who his starting second baseman would be on Opening Day, Mets manager Terry Collins said, “There’s no reason to think Hernandez wouldn’t be the guy, if that’s who we think is going to be best for us. Plan to start Luis Hernandez at second a mistake
In this morning’s New York Post, Mike Puma wrote a column based on a person “with direct knowledge of (Terry) Collins’ plans” saying that the Mets are going to name Luis Hernandez as the team’s starting second baseman.
How many people saw that one coming two weeks ago?
The last time we saw Hernandez, he was limping around the bases after hitting a home run off Tim Hudson...

Add Luis Hernandez to the 2nd base mix
Late last year Luis Hernandez during a meaningless contest fouled a pitched off his foot. At that point Hernandez didn't know it but is foot was now broken. Still in the at bat he clocked a home run and then hobbled around the bases for it seemed like an hour.

Nice to comeback and see there is a hurricane off Montauk and some guy named Hernandez hitting a home run and the Mets wasting a 6 run effort with 9 hits and as usual losing.
