Prior, Webb on the Comeback Trail
Stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before. According to Nick Cafardo, both Mark Prior and Brandon Webb are on the comeback trail once again.
Everybody knows Prior’s story by now. A former second overall pick, Prior had a tremendous 2003 before injuries started to derail his career. He last pitched in the majors in 2006, and posted a terrible 6.56 FIP in...

Yankees have had no talks with Mark Prior
A year ago it seemed like a decent idea to sign Mark Prior. The Yankees pitching rotation was a big question mark and even though he hadn’t been able to stay healthy in a few years, Prior had good potential to contribute if he ever could maintain his health. So they signed him to a minor league deal and what do you know, he couldn’t stay healthy.
With the same question...

Mark Prior Doesn’t Plan to Opt-Out of Yankees Deal
Via Chad Jennings of the Journal News:
Mark Prior will stay in Tampa strictly because of the weather. The Yankees want him to pitch more than one inning at a time, and they want him to get into back-to-back games, and when it gets warmer, he’ll go north to join (probably) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Prior has an opt-out in his contract that kicks in mid-summer. He wasn’t ...
