Player Profile #113: Martin Prado | 3B/OF | ATL
He doesn’t walk and he makes a lot of contact. His name is Martin Prado and he lives and dies with his BABIP. If Prado doesn’t hit close to .300 then you’re going to be disappointed. He doesn’t have enough power or speed to contribute elsewhere without his batting average. The good news is that before 2011, Prado’s lowest BABIP was .331 when he had...

3 Trades Braves Should Consider: Trade #3
By Jim Pratt
Editor’s note: Recently, BravesWire writer, Jim Pratt, proposed the first of three trades he says the Braves should consider. See links to parts 1-2 below.
TRADE #1 >>> | TRADE #2 >>>
Braves OF Martin Prado
Even though Braves’ left fielder, Martin Prado, is playing out of position, his worth is not limited to his outfield production. The safety...

Rockies Move On Without Braves’ Prado
The rumored trade that was the most exciting happening of the offseason for the Atlanta Braves was finally put down on Saturday night. The Colorado Rockies acquired Marco Scutaro from the Boston Red Sox for a player who isn’t going to be the next Roy Halladay. At best, the Red Sox dumped the salary of Scutaro to fill another hole on their team, with the addition of Cody Ross...

Braves Sign Martin Prado to One Year Deal
The Atlanta Braves avoided arbitration with left-fielder Martin Prado on Friday. They signed him to a deal worth somewhere between $4.5-5 million. This is actually less than what was originally expected, so it seems like the Braves may have saved some money on bringing back Prado.
Rumors had swirled around Prado all off-season, but the Braves’ asking price was very high for...

Braves' Prado agrees to $4.75 million contract
Outfielder Martin Prado has avoided arbitration with the Atlanta Braves by agreeing to a $4.75 million contract for 2012.
Prado, who made $3.1 million last season, is a versatile player who could be the long-term replacement at third base when Chipper Jones retires. He moved to left field in 2011 and slumped a bit, batting .260 with 13 homers and 57 RBIs. Before that, he had three...

Trading Prado Should Require Overpay
Martin Prado was without a doubt one of the biggest disappointments for the Atlanta Braves in 2011. In 2010 Prado was a rare second baseman who hit like a leftfielder, but in 2011 he was a leftfielder who hit like, well, a second baseman. Missing time with a Staph infection certainly didn’t help and neither did his astoundingly low .266 BABIP (compared to his .315 career average...

Would you trade Delmon Young for Martin Prado if you were the Tigers?
At what price does Prado come at?
In a report from Mlive Contributor Ian Casselberry earlier today, he mentioned that the Detroit Tigers were interested in trading for Atlanta Braves super utility player Martin Prado to fill our 2nd base hole. At first I was very excited about the report since Prado is a great player and would defiantly help us at 2nd base and fill in at lead off...

Should Braves Trade Prado to the Rockies?
There have been numerous rumors swirling around about the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves being potential suitors for a Martin Prado trade in the past two weeks. This surfaced on the heels of the Braves’ potential rumor with the Kansas City Royals as they allegedly tried to trade Prado and Jair Jurrjens for Lorenzo Cain and Wil Myers. That trade was apparently too...
