The Chicago Cubs week that was and more Cubs stuff
After a crazy Cubs week, full of news and groundbreaking signings like those of Trever Miller and Matt Tolbert combined with another eye-opening list of prospects from BA that no one has ever thought of before, it is hard just to catch one’s breath.
Can you sense the sarcasm? Good, because I am laying it on pretty thick.
And as I am typing this, word breaks across the wire that...

Tues Funnies. Just...sharing my Cubs angst.
Edgar Gonzalez, Matt Tolbert, and Trever Miller all in the same day?

Just a little angst now and then.
I'll deal with it by drawing.

Cubs Sign Rodrigo Lopez, Matt Tolbert To Minor League Deals
With the Cubs pretty much set with most of their roster for the 2012 season, save the couple of players that they are rumored to be willing to trade, what’s left for the Cubs are the depth signings to battle for bench spots and spend most of their time toiling in Triple A.
They already signed Alfredo Amezaga to a minor league deal last week, giving them a super utility guy...

37-27: Holy Crap Matt Tolbert Hit a Home Run
(via Fangraphs)
Yeah, that really happened. Matt Tolbert’s only hit of the game was a solo shot that put the game on ice. Actually, the offense had little trouble scoring runs tonight, which is a nice change from, oh, every game over the past month or so. The worst hitters in the American League were a combined 5-9 with three walks between them. Unfortunately, pretty...

Love Of Inept Utility Infielders Needs To End
Originally posted at BleacherReport.com

Perhaps this is the reason Matt Tolbert still finds himself in the batting lineup every day?
Being brutally honest, Tolbert is not [...]
