Miguel Cairo on Team: "We Stink"
Reds veteran Miguel Cairo likely said what every Reds fan was thinking after the team's 10-9 home loss to the Mets on Thursday. It marked the first time the Mets had ever swept a 4-game series from Cincy in the Queen City -- dropping the struggling Redlegs to 6.5 games off the pace in the NL Central.
Cairo, a 16-year veteran of the league, had this to say after the series...

Miguel Cairo is the only active player from the 1998 Rays
Earlier today, I stumbled across an article that caught my attention. Joe Smith of the St. Petersburg Times wrote about Miguel Cairo being the last active player from the 1998 Rays. I must confess, this is actually really random news as most of you are probably asking yourselves, who the hell is Miguel Cairo?
Cairo, as Smith points out, is a “classic survivor”. The guy has...

He will be used to spell Scott Rolen as the Reds plan to rest him more next season. MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon reported the signing.

Beerleaguer for breakfast: Cairo catches on with Reds
Miguel Cairo, part of the Phillies' 25-man roster through the first two rounds of the postseason, went 12-45 (.267) with one home run during the regular season and a combined 0-5 (.000) in the Division and Championship Series. Myers returns to roster; Cairo misses the cut
Brett Myers, who last appeared in the Division Series, becomes pitcher No. 12 as the Phillies set their World Series roster this afternoon. Miguel Cairo will be omitted, a nod to Eric Bruntlett's speed and versatility. Bruntlett has had a knack for scoring big runs as a pinch runner. The news also means Antonio Bastardo will stick around the entire postseason. With four games...
