Rumor: Yankees Interested in Mike Gonzalez
Aside from the rotation, the only spot the Yankees really need to address this offseason is to add another lefty reliever. Their first target may be Mike Gonzalez, who the Yankees are interested in, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated.
Gonzalez, still 33, missed time over the past two seasons with two small tears in his rotator cuff and fraying in his labrum, a huge Pedro...

Mike Gonzalez Traded to Rangers
The Texas Rangers just can’t stop making trades. After acquiring Mike Adams and Koji Uehera (yes, another Oriole) at the trade deadline, the Rangers went out yesterday and traded for pitcher Mike Gonzalez from the Orioles for a PTBNL.
On the surface, this is a relatively minor move. Ooo, the Rangers add another veteran arm to help them shore up their bullpen down the stretch...

Rangers get LH reliever Gonzalez from Orioles
The Texas Rangers have acquired left-handed reliever Mike Gonzalez from the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named.
The deal was announced Wednesday.
Gonzalez is 2-2 with one save and a 4.27 ERA in 49 games. But he's been impressive lately, allowing five hits and one walk with 15 strikeouts over 13 straight scoreless appearances.
Gonzalez is the second reliever the Rangers...

Mike Gonzalez Finally Pitching as Expected- a Year and a Half Later
When the Orioles signed left-handed relief specialist Mike Gonzalez from the Atlanta Braves in December of 2009, I thought the Birds’ front office finally acquired a dominant relief pitcher that has experience on a winning team and could lead the young bullpen.
Mike Gonzalez was born on May 23rd, 1978 in Robstown, Texas.
But, in his career with the Orioles over the last year and...

The Curious Case of Oriole Reliever Mike Gonzalez
When reliever Mike Gonzalez signed with the Orioles before last season, I thought it was a decent signing at the time despite the money involved. He had a solid track record in the National League with Pittsburgh and Atlanta, so one would think he certainly would be integral part of the Baltimore bullpen. As we all know, from the start of Spring Training until 2/3 of the way...

According to a Major League source close to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, the Baltimore Orioles have placed left-handed reliever Mike Gonzalez on trade waivers on Tuesday. Cafardo adds that Gonzalez could be another relief candidate for the Red Sox if the Orioles are inclined to trade him.

Reliever Mike Gonzalez’s Current Rehab Status
Orioles reliever Mike Gonzalez is currently rehabbing with the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
One question still looms in the minds of Orioles fans around the country: Will reliever Mike Gonzalez actually contribute (positively) to the team in 2010?
Ever since Opening Day, the Birds have been plagued with the absence of a true dominant closer, as Gonzalez failed to convert two saves in his...

Gonzalez Shelved; Rays Sweep & Are the O's Really This Bad?
After everything that has gone on with Mike Gonzalez from Spring Training until now, is anyone surprised at the news that came out this afternoon. I've watched enough National League baseball and remember Mike Gonzalez pitching in relief as an Atlanta Brave to know something was wrong when I saw him last week. From the Orioles.com: The team announced that Gonzalez is...

Wrapping Up: Boo Birds come out for Gonzalez
This “Mike Gonzalez as closer” situation in Baltimore is fast becoming one to watch closely, or to simply avert your eyes from if you’re an Orioles fan. Gonzalez was given the ball with a one-run lead in the ninth at home against the Blue Jays. He was taken out of the game two-thirds of an [...]
