Mike Lamb Clears Waivers

Florida Marlins: Lamb designated, Petersen promoted; Stanton hits 500-foot HR
After Thursday’s game, the Marlins announced that effective Friday Mike Lamb would be designated for assignment and Bryan Petersen promoted from Triple-A New Orleans. Lamb won the left-handed pinch-hitter job in spring training and in that role this season was 4 for 15 (.267) with three RBI.

Cubs interested in Mike Lamb?
According to the Tribune the Cubs are interested in signing Mike Lamb to a minor league deal. Lamb was pretty good with the Astros in 2004, 2006 and 2007, but was horrific with the Twins last year. He can play 1st and 3rd.

Brew Crew clears spot for McGehee
Last season in late September the Brewers picked up Mike Lamb, to be used as a pinch hitter and reserve player. Lamb went 3 for 11 during the stretch run, but was not put on the post season roster.
