MIKE TIMLIN RUMORS & GOSSIP

Boston Athlete of the Day: Mike Timlin

The epitome of consistency. From 2003-08, Timlin recorded 409 outs in a Bo'Sox uniform. #50 could handle any situation. When you needed an out, he could get it for you. When you needed to burn a few innings, he could bite the bullet. And when you needed a save, he could fill that role as well (as shown by his 13 saves in '05). Timlin appeared in 394 games during his six...

No more free frames for this Sox fan

On the heels of last night's excruciating, agonizing, 5+ hour,A 9-8A eleven inning loss to the Rays in Game 2 of the ALCS, I have come to a decision regarding my viewing habits for extra inning Red Sox games: I'm changing the channel after nine innings are completed, regardless of the score, and well before Mike Timlin takes [...]

True MLB Stories: Mike Timlin Edition

Last night, after the Red Sox crushing defeat delivered from the old, ineffective arm of Mike Timlin, the Sox lockerroom was a somber place. As the players began to file out of the lockerroom, Timlin remained seated at his locker, uniform still on, head hung low. Players passed him on the way out, some shaking their heads, other patting him on the back. Some wishing he'd just go...

Mike Timlin needs to retire

Yes, I absolutely appreciate everything that Mike Timlin has done for the Boston Red Sox. He has been an anchor in the bullpen for years, helping the team win two World Series in addition to making the playoffs two other times. The young guys in the bullpen wouldn't be what they are without the tutelage of Timlin. If he's not the captain of the 'pen pirates,' then he's the first...

Mike Timlin gets stitches on his pitching hand

Timlin received a few stitches on his pitching hand's ring finger today. He cut open the finger fielding a comebacker to the mound during Wednesday's exhibition game. Francona said a stint on the DL is unlikely for Mike but its unsure whether he will pitch in Japan or not.

Have You Seen This Parrot?

The mascot of the Red Sox bullpen pirate brigade, a stuffed parrot they named "Parlay", was stolen sometime during the pennant celebrations this weekend- and Mike Timlin and the rest of the bullpen really want it back.

Sell high on Timlin

So I'm watching the game and Timlin is pitching well. To be honest, he has pitched well for awhile now. Ever since coming off the DL, he has really has only had one hiccup at Seattle. So why am i selling on Timlin? He is getting extremely lucky. This is a perfect example of why stats are important. Timlin looks great but with what he is doing, he should be doing significantly...
