Indians, LHP Perez avoid arbitration, agree to pact
Cleveland Indians lefthander Rafael Perez agreed to a one-year contract worth just over $2 million on Thursday.
The deal between Perez and Cleveland avoided salary arbitration.
Perez had been asking for $2.4 million while the team was offering $1.6 million.
The 29-year-old Perez posted a 5-2 mark with a 3.00 ERA last season with the Indians. He made $1.33 million in 2011.
