Can Ramon Vazquez become Abraham Nunez?
I am having a case of déjà vu – St. Louis Cardinals spring training déjà vu.
Based on a combination of factors, including untimely surgery for Nick Punto and a long recovery for oft-injured David Freese, third baseman Matt Carpenter has received more playing time than expected in the first ten games of spring training.
The non-roster invitee, yet to play even a single regular...

Not sure what the reasoning is for this acquisition, but that’s not what we are here for today. Let’s analyze Vasquez’s stats and see where he fits in amongst the Cardinals’ Future Redbirds...

Vazquez is now a free agent, able to sign with any team. The Pirates are on the hook for the full $2 M salary that Vazquez was owed in 2010, although they would be relieved of up to $400 K if another team signs him this season...

Vazquez + Colonials. Let’s Dance

Did he think he had the team made and if so, where would he get that idea? Certainly not from his performance last [...]
