Nationals may be interested in Randy Winn?

Could Randy Winn be roaming the outfield at Nationals Park in Washington?  One baseball source thinks that the Nats may show interest in the veteran outfielder. Winn, 36, spent parts of last season with the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals. Winn Finds A New Home

After his short Yankees career came to an end last week, Randy Winn has signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He pinch-hit in their 5-4 extra innings win today, and went 0-for-1. It will be interesting to see what he can do in the NL, because he looked done in his short stint with the Yanks.

According to the Cardinals’ official Twitter account, the team is close to signing free agent Randy Winn. Winn was designated for assignment by the Yankees at the end of May. Winn, 36 next week, signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Yankees in January. He was hitting .213/.300/.295 in 29 games with the Yankees in 2010.
