Rays sign INF Ray Olmedo to Minor League deal

According to Baseball America (via Marc Topklin of the St. Petersburg Times), the Tampa Bay Rays have signed infielder Ray Olmedo to a Minor League deal. The 29-year-old native from Venezuela has played five big league seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays.  He last played in the Major sin 2007 when he hit .216 (11-for-51). ]]>
