A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that shortstop Ronny Cedeno and the New York Mets have agreed to a one-year, $1.15 million contract.

The Mets and free agent shortstop Ronny Cedeno have reached a critical point in their negotiations, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN NY, they haven't agreed to a deal yet, but there could be a verdict soon, Rubin reports.

The Pittsburgh Pirates might discuss a new deal with shortstop Ronny Cedeno, according to Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLB Trade Rumors.
