What does the aquisition of Ryan Garko bring to the Rangers?

Since early into this past off season the Rangers have been looking for first base help.  In December the Rangers had all but acquired third baseman Mike Lowell in exchange for catcher prospect Max Ramirez.  Once Lowell was examined by Rangers doctors it was realized that he needed thumb surgery and he was sent back to the [...]

Ryan Garko Placed on Waivers

Sigh. This is the type of move that really annoys me. No, it’s not a team-killer, and no, it’s not real surprising after what we’ve all been hearing over the last two weeks (although I certainly did not expect them to just let him go) – but it just comes off as kind of, well, [...]

Mariners Sign Garko

Gregg Bell is reporting the the Seattle Mariners have agree to terms with first baseman Ryan Garko. The deal is for 1 year at $550K with incentives that bring the deal up to $1.075M. Giants - Acquired Garko

San Francisco Giants - Acquired 1B Ryan Garko from the Cleveland Indians for P Scott Barnes. Garko has established himself as your basic run-of-the-mill league-average 1B. I'm not sure he's a great fit for the Giants however...

Trade Analysis: Ryan Garko Shipped to San Francisco

The needle has barely moved with Tribe fans this morning in regards to first basemen Ryan Garko being traded to San Francisco for left-handed Class A pitcher Scott Barnes. While many of you may say that Garko was the hottest bat on the Indians during this mini-streak they are on, its the equivalent of being [...]

Sleeping Thoughts: Ryan Garko Trade

Things get much better after I sleep on something. In the case of the Indians trading away players I love, no.I won't go bazerk on this one like I did with the Franklin Gutierrez deal, I promise. As I said, the writing was on the wall, this move was coming a mile away, it was just a matter of when and what the Indians would get for him.But I still can't help and be upset the...

Garko :tear drop: :*(

Let me preface this by saying I fully expected Ryan Garko to be dealt at some point between... earlier this month and next season. The writing was on the wall and the only reason he was getting playing time as of late was to boost his stock.Shoppach sucking probably had something to do with it all.But I'm still pretty sad about this.I'll probably go more in depth with Garko...
