Took a quick glance at transactions as a refresher and clicked on Ryan Harvey's name. I LOL'd when I saw his picture. That certainly wasn't very nice of me.Harvey is a tall righty from Florida who was a Cubs brat (first round!) up until a couple of years ago when Colorado... Uh, obtained him. Red Sox sign Ryan Harvey to Minor League deal as a right-handed pitcher
According to Major League sources close to Jon Paul Morosi and FOXSports.com, the Boston Red Sox have signed former first-round draft pick Ryan Harvey.
Harvey was drafted by the Cubs in the 2003 draft as an outfielder. Now, he's resurrecting his career as a right-handed pitcher.

Cubs Release Ryan Harvey
According to a report from Scout.com, the Cubs released former first round draft pick Ryan Harvey on Tuesday. Harvey was drafted with the sixth overall pick in 2003 from Dunedin High School in Florida. In six seasons in the Cubs' system Harvey was never promoted past the Double-A level.
Ryan Harvey compiled a career batting average of .247 in 471 games with a career .298 OBP...

Cubs Release 2003 #1 Draft Pick
The Cubs have released 2003 #1 draft pick OF Ryan Harvey.
The 24-year old Harvey had one of the top two or three RF arms in the organization and awesome power (he hit four home runs for Daytona in one game a couple of years ago), but he just was not a good hitter (he is a first-ball fastball hacker--247/298/448 with 83 HR and 539 strikeouts in 471 career minor league games...
