Pirates Dump LHP Scott Olsen
Last night, the Pittsburgh Pirates officially cut ties with left-handed pitcher Scott Olsen.
The Bucs signed Olsen in the offseason to compete for the fourth and fifth spots in their starting rotation, but the 27-year-old was injured in Spring Training and still hasn’t fully recoverd.
The team will be on the hook for Olsen’s $450,000 salary unless another team signs him...

Olsen will miss next start
(by Ian Koski) Scott Olsen will miss his next start in the rotation after coming out of Friday night's game early due to inflammation in his left arm. The team doesn't have a game on Monday, so the Nationals can utilize a four-man rotation until May 29th or 30th in San Diego, Rigglemen said.
