Sizemore leaves after being hit on bunt attempt
Oakland Athletics third baseman Scott Sizemore has left a game against the Detroit Tigers after being hit near his left collarbone by a pitch.
Sizemore was squaring around to bunt with two on in the fourth inning Tuesday night when Rick Porcello's pitch came high and inside. The ball appeared to hit Sizemore just under his left cheek. He was tended to briefly on the field before...

Scott Sizemore Filling the Empty Hole at Third
When Kevin Kouzmanoff was sent down to the minors this year and the A’s traded for Scott Sizemore to take his place I was not convinced the A’s had made the right move. Before coming to Oakland Kouzmanoff had been a good player and I have been waiting for him to get going again. So I felt the addition of Scott Sizemore might be hindering Kouzmanoff’s comeback. Especially when...

Detroit Tigers trade Scott Sizemore
In a way I guess I, and Detroit Tigers fans with me, should be happy. An underperforming member of the roster has been traded to add more depth in the bullpen. Clearly this was a move that needed to happen, but for me it speaks to way in which Tigers General Manger Dave Dombrowski has really dropped the ball. His performance in the front office seems to be getting a little worse...

Drew Sharp: Pressure, economy contributed to Scott Sizemore move by Tigers

Sizemore Traded to Athletics
In a surprise move, the Tigers traded Scott Sizemore to the Athletics today for left-handed reliever David Purcey. The Tigers will be the third team for Purcey already this year. He was traded from the Blue Jays to the Athletics for a minor league pitcher on April 18. The 29-year-old Purcey has a lifetime ERA of 5.17 with 7.7 strikeouts and 4.5 walks per nine innings. That...

BP Unfiltered: Tiger vs Tiger: If Andy Oliver Faced Scott Sizemore by David Laurila
Scott Sizemore is being called up by the Tigers today, which should come as no surprise given that the second baseman is hitting .408/.495/.605 in 92 plate appearances for Triple-A Toledo. Andy Oliver may not be far behind, as the highly-touted southpaw is 3-1, 3.64 in five starts for the Mud Hens, his last outing a 7-inning, 3-hit, shutout performance. The two youngsters sat down...

Sizemore up, Rhymes down.
Scott Sizemore was called up late last night, and Will Rhymes crawled out from under the bus, hopped on it, cued Green Day’s “Closing Time” on his iPod, and diminuendo’d his way down to Toledo.
The move is significant in two ways, because not only will Sizemore be a mainstay in the lineup, but also Maggs will likely get squeezed out as the Raburn/Rhymes platoon is no more...

Scott Sizemore Provides Heroics In Tigers Win Over White Sox
Scott Sizemore blasted a big three run home run in the top of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie in the Tigers 6-3 win over the White Sox yesterday. It was just his second home run on the season in what’s been a disappointing year for the upstart second baseman. It’ll be interesting [...]

Scott Sizemore Recalled, Not in Lineup tonight
The Tigers have lost seven consecutive games heading into action tonight, they’ll play their second game without third baseman Brandon Inge, who’ll miss at least the next four weeks.
In order to at least temporarily help fill-in at the hot corner, the Tigers have recalled INF Scott Sizemore from AAA Toledo while optioning out RHP Casey Fien.
Sizemore has played well...
