SEAN CASEY RUMORS & GOSSIP

Casey, Driessen going into Reds Hall of Fame

Seldom have there been two more divergent personalities than Dan Driessen and Sean Casey. Until now, the only thing they had in common was that both played first base for the Cincinnati Reds. Now they have another thing in common both are to be inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Driessen was one of the most shy, quiet players ever to wear the wishbone C,' a guy...

Whats Eating Sean Casey?

When I woke up this morning I turned on MLB Network (which is quickly becoming my favorite channel) and noticed Sean Casey is among the seemingly hundreds of former players that are part of their on air-talent. No big deal- I’ve never had much of an opinion about Sean Casey one way or another- but [...]

Sean Casey officially retires

I'm not sure what Sean Casey did to piss off Terry Francona last year but it must have been something major. He ended the season with a .322 AVG and a .381 OBP yet he only got 2 at-bats in the playoffs and only 199 all year long.Anyway, that's all in the past as Sean Casey has announced today that he's officially retiring and join the staff of the MLB Network. He will...

Sean Casey Retires

Two-time All-Star Sean Casey has decided to retire. Casey, 34, hit .322 in 69 games for the Red Sox last season, and is a career .302 hitter. Casey would have made for a solid pinch hitter off the bench for the next couple of seasons, as well as a nice mentor for younger players. For the time being, he will join the MLB Network. This story was approved by MLB Rumors.

David Ortiz has a odd Top 5 movie list

Vdeo of Sean Casey asking David Ortiz to name his 5 favorite movies. Of course there was no Braveheart, Shawshank, or Glory. Rather Big Papi named Rambo III and the Pink Panther as part of his favorites. I am going to guess this whole thing was made in jest, although Anaconda with Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez was pretty darn good.

1B Sean Casey: Is He For Real?

Going into his 11th year in MLB, "the Mayor", as he is called by some fans, has done the unthinkable in the mind of today's modern athlete. He has opted to take a lesser role to play on a winning team in contention for another World Series title (it would be their second in a row and their 3rd since 2004). He admittedly had offers on the table as a starting First baseman...

Red Sox smarter than Mariners

Every other team in baseball looked at this skillset and said "not interested". The Red Sox looked at this skillset and said "useful bench player if he'll play for nothing". The Mariners looked at this skillset and said "Starting DH, $6 million salary, #2 hitter".

Sean Casey Starts His Chase To Break Barry Bonds Single Season Homerun Record

Detroit Tigers' first baseman Sean Casey has earned my respect with how he's going to try and chase down Bonds' single season mark. Casey hit his first homer of the 2007 campaign yesterday against the Washington Nationals, officially starting his pursuit of the record a mere 70 games into the season. While cheaters like McSteroid and Bonds lowered the degree of difficulty...
