Wezen-Ball: Topps Honors Special "Animal" Moments by Larry Granillo
The 2012 Topps Baseball Card set hits the store shelves on Wednesday. Earlier this week, an image of one of the set's most creative cards was released to the public:
If this doesn't look familiar to you, that's an image of the infamous "Rally Squirrel" on Skip Schumaker's card in place of the usual photo of Schumaker diving at an infield single. Topps...

Rally Squirrel Knocks Skip Schumaker Off His Own Baseball Card
As the St. Louis Cardinals unexpected postseason success continued a local rodent became famous, the Rally Squirrel was born. It was during Skip Schumaker's at-bat against Roy Oswalt when the squirrel made his first appearance, something Topps decided to celebrate. Skip Schumaker's New Topps Card Is Awesome
This is awesome. Remember the Rally Squirrel, who gained so much attention during last year's Cardinals playoff run? Topps has dragged it back into the limelight, prominently featuring the squirrel on Skip Schumaker's Topps card for this season. Don't worry Schumaker fans, this is just going to be a short print and not the more commonly distributed card. I'm not much of a card...

Rally squirrel steals Cardinals Skip Schumaker's card
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman/outfielder Skip Schumaker had a decent showing in the Cardinals run to a World Series championship last season. He finished the playoffs going a combined 8 for 21 with four rbis. But apparently that won't cut it according to Topps, a baseball card manufacturer. Either that or somebody there doesn't like Skip.
On his 2012 card, Topps...

Cardinals' Rally Squirrel Gets Baseball Card, Upstaging Skip Schumaker Once Again (Photo)
Cardinals outfielder Skip Schumaker's connection to the Rally Squirrel in St. Louis is going to last forever. Or, at least as long as few small pieces of cardboard hold up. Cards' outfielder calls 'Rally Squirrel' card 'Ridiculous'
ST. LOUIS - Skip Schumaker was fine with the Rally Squirrel stealing his thunder during the playoffs. Doing it on a baseball card is a different story.
The Cardinals utility man was less than pleased Monday when Topps announced that the famous squirrel that dashed in front of Schumaker while he batted during Game 4 of the Division Series in October would be featured on one of his...

Cards' Schumaker excited to be back
ST. LOUIS - Like the rest of the baseball world, Skip Schumaker sat back and watched as Albert Pujols weighed free agent offers and tried to decide where he wanted to play next season.
But unlike most, Schumaker's future was directly related to Pujols' decision.
With the Cardinals needing every possible penny to try and bring back their slugger, the arbitration eligible...
