Twins designate catcher Steve Holm for assignment

According to a team press release, the Minnesota Twins have designated catcher Steve Holm for assignment. The 31-year-old catcher played in six games for the Twins this season. He was 2-for-17 with .118/.167/.176 average.  Holm was previously brought up to the big league club when Joe Mauer was placed on the disabled list.
