MLB Trade Rumors: Would You Trade Travis Hafner for A.J. Burnett?
I love Hot Stove talk. Pitchers and catchers report in less than two weeks and it appears as if the Indians are still looking to improve their roster. With Asdrubal Cabrera signing his one-year deal on Friday avoiding arbitration, the Tribe has everyone under contract for the 2012 season….and that’s it.
It’s now the worst kept secret in town, but the Tribe literally...

Indians' Hafner must reach into his past
The 2012 season will be an important one for Travis Hafner, as it could be his last as a member of the Indians.
The 34-year-old designated hitter is entering the last year of a four-year 57 million contract. Hafner will make 13 million in 2012. The Indians hold a 13 million club option for 2013. The buyout on the option year is 2.75 million.
Hafner signed that contract in July...

Indians activate DH Hafner from disabled list
The Cleveland Indians activated designated hitter Travis Hafner from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox.
Hafner has been sidelined since Aug. 21 with a strained right foot. It was originally feared that he would undergo season-ending surgery, but doctors cleared him to start a running program last week.
The 34-year-old...

Hafner Could be Shut Down for Season
The Indians sent trainer Lonnie Soloff to talk to the media about Travis Hafner’s injury, and the report isn’t good. Hafner is in a walking boot and may require surgery, which would effectively end his season.
Hafner has suffered a strained peroneal tendon in “plantar aspect” of his right foot. They are currently seeking other medical options, which would keep Hafner from...

Indians DH Hafner goes to disabled list
The Cleveland Indians have put designated hitter Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right foot.
General manager Chris Antonetti announced the move Monday before the Indians opened a series against Seattle. Right-hander Josh Judy was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to take Hafner's roster spot and provide some help to Cleveland's overworked bullpen.

Cleveland Indians Win on Travis Hafner’s Walk-Off Grand Slam
As if this season couldn’t get any more magical.
When the Indians came to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning down 4-0 against the Blue Jays, FanGraphs had their Win Expectancy at just 1.6%. Not many clubs can come back from a four-run deficit in half an inning.
Even when Travis Hafner stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and Cleveland’s deficit down to three...

How Much Does Travis Hafner Mean?
The Indians look to get Travis Hafner back next week. If you are keeping track of the schedule, you will realize that it will be just in time for the Indians to leave him on the bench as a pinch hitter as they visit National League teams in San Francisco, Arizona and Cincinnati. That is not good news for an Indians team that is having trouble producing runs. I don’t think...

Remembering just how good Travis Hafner was all over again
Over the last few years I’ve almost forced myself to forget just how much of a monster Travis Hafner was from 2004 to 2006.
It was easier for me to accept the fact that he fell off the face of the baseball earth after getting locked up long-term for major dollars that way. Easier for me to accept the fact that immediately after he was paid like a core player, and one...

Can Travis Hafner Keep Up His Hot Hitting?
Statistics in a sample size as small as the season to date can be strongly influenced by pure, dumb luck. That’s why Justin Masterson suddenly looks like a Cy Young candidate this year while his peripherals have stayed fairly constant, and why Fausto Carmona’s numbers are worse despite making improvements in both his strikeout and walk rates.
It’s also why Travis Hafner seems...

Travis Hafner’s Health is Key for Cleveland Indians to Continue Winning Ways
After two straight disappointing seasons with less then 70 wins, the Cleveland Indians have gotten off to an excellent start this year. Cleveland is currently 7-2 and has won seven straight.
A huge reason why the Tribe had two straight seasons with less than 70 wins was of lack of power in the middle of the line-up. From 2009-2010 Cleveland had only two players that hit more then...
