Morning news today ignores the ridiculous signing of not only Albert Pujols, but also C.J. "I can't win in the playoffs" Wilson and instead looks at the Ian Stewart trade as well as the Cubs involvement in the Rule 5 draft.

Cubs and Rockies Discussing Colvin for Stewart Trade
The Chicago Cubs have made it clear Tyler Colvin is no longer in their future plans with a slew of outfield talent coming up through the system. They’ve made it clear Aramis Ramirez will not be back, and they do need a third basemen.
It has been reported that the Chicago Cubs are in talks to acquire Ian Stewart from the Rockies in exchange for the former first round pick Tyler...

Plate Discipline: Colvin vs. DeJesus
Well, it looks like if you're gonna be a Chicago Cub any more, you better learn plate discipline.
A little patience.
Make the pitcher work.
That kinda stuff.
Tyler Colvin, he can hit a homer once in awhile, but he ain't no walker.
David DeJesus on the other hand, has 359 walks in his 3797 career at-bats.
Young Tyler, he's got 46 in his 581 career at-bats.
If you pro Tyler's 581 at...

Is Tyler Colvin Going to be Traded To the Boston Red Sox?
Tyler Colvin is rumored to be the player going to the Boston Red Sox as compensation for Theo Epstein. That would be the greatest thing of all time, as Tyler Colvin isn’t going to be a guy the Cubs were hoping he would be, and with the Cubs having a ton of talent in their outfield throughout the minor leagues- I don’t think anyone will miss Colvin.
Theo Epstein was worth...

From the Wire ... Colvin Optioned to Triple-A Iowa
According to multiple reports, the Cubs optioned Tyler Colvin to Triple-A Iowa following Monday's loss to the Reds. The Cubs have not announced the corresponding roster move.
Rumors have suggested that either Luis Montanez or Tony Campana will take Colvin's spot on the Cubs' active roster. The Cubs have only one other outfielder on the 40-man roster, Fernando Perez,...

Tyler Colvin Headed for the Minors?
According to multiple reports Saturday night, Tyler Colvin could be looking at a trip to the minors in the near future. Mike Quade is not playing Tyler Colvin and when he has Colvin has looked lost at the plate. Quade had Blake DeWitt in his starting lineup Sunday in left field further proving that the team has lost confidence in Colvin.

Time for Cubs to Send Colvin to Minors
Colvin and Starlin
When Tyler Colvin came up for the Chicago Cubs he showed a great deal of promise during his 2010 rookie season. He smacked 20 homers in sporadic duty and showed the versatility to play all over the outfield. The future seemed bright for the young Cub as he entered the 2011 season at just 25 and fully recovered from last year’s horrific lung injury. Unfortunately...

Is Tyler Colvin in danger of being demoted?
The rumors have not started yet and he hasn't even received the dreaded vote of confidence from manager Mike Quade, but its looking more and more like Ty Colvin could be demoted to AAA Iowa.
While Kosuke Fukudome has gotten off to his typical hot April start (.458/.552/.479), Colvin, who was suppose to split time with Fukudome, has struggled (.128/.196/.319). Quade has taken...

It's Tyler Colvin Bobblehead Giveaway Night at Wrigley!
It absolutely freaks me out how talented the artisans are who individually hand-craft bobblehead dolls. The patience and skill involved...I think at Northwestern and Stanford you can get a degree in bobblehead. If they made a tv show about it, the opening would borrow from "Kung Fu", and the student would have to walk across rice paper and snatch the pebble from that old...

How much playing time will Tyler Colvin get?
The Chicago Cubs seem to be set on most of their starting lineup, especially on the positions that Tyler Colvin plays. Alfonso Soriano will start in left, Marlon Byrd will be in center, Kosuke Fukudome will most likely man right, and Carlos Pena will undoubtedly be at first. Where does that leave Colvin, except for [...]
