Pirates Sign Six Minor League Free Agents

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed six minor league free agents, according to Baseball America.  Returning to the organization are catchers Milver Reyes and Wyatt Toregas.  Reyes was a coach last year, and will likely return to the same role.  Toregas will probably fill the role once again as AAA depth and an emergency catcher if the Pirates happen to need a dozen catchers again...

Pirates Designate Wyatt Toregas For Assignment

To make room for catcher Mike McKenry, on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have designated Wyatt Toregas for assignment, writes MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch.  Toregas was on the Bucs big league roster for just four days. In 135 career Triple-A games, Toregas has a .235/.301/.355 slash line with eleven homers.
