Mets sign Buddy Carlyle to minor league deal

The New York Mets have signed free agent pitcher Buddy Carlyle to a minor league contract. Carlyle, 36, will not be invited to spring training. Last season Carlyle spent the entire year at Triple-A for Toronto posting a 3.86 ERA and a 76/20 K/BB ratio in 56 innings of work. In parts of seven big league seasons Carlyle has appeared in 112 games posting a 5.58 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP.
