Buddy Carlyle Decision On Out-Clause Looms

On the eve of the season opener, Mets reliever, Buddy Carlyle has an out-clause on his contract that he can exercise, assuming he is not on the Opening Day roster. Mets calling up Buddy Carlyle to provide bullpen help

The New York Mets will call up relief pitcher Buddy Carlyle Saturday to provide help to their bullpen. Carlyle has a 1.33 ERA in 20 1/3 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas and could be the first man used out of the pen for...

The Mets announced that 36-year-old reliever Buddy Carlyle will be promoted from Las Vegas and join the team in time for Saturday’s game. A corresponding move has not yet been announced, but a few beat writers believe it could be Rafael Montero. The move was necessitated after the bullpen logged 9.1 innings in Friday’s 6-5 loss to the Phillies in 14 innings. Carlyle is 1-1 with...
