Padres' Cory Luebke suffers setback during rehab
The San Diego Padres have been less than horrible this season. They have won four of their last six games (including a sweep of the Baltimore Orioles), but they could be better. Their ace, Cory Luebke, has been out while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Unfortunately, he's hit yet another hiccup in his recovery.

Padres' Luebke to see Dr. Yocum
San Diego Padres pitcher Cory Luebke will see Dr. Lewis Yocum on Thursday to get a second opinion on his left elbow. Luebke landed on the disabled list last week with what the team called a strained left elbow, but an MRI revealed ligament damage. There is a possibility that he may require season-ending ligament replacement surgery. The lefty had posted a 2.61 ERA in his first...

Padres' Luebke to skip start due to elbow discomfort
LHP Cory Luebke, the San Diego Padres' best pitcher thus far, will skip a start due to

million contract extension that commits him to the Padres through 2017, is off to a 3-1
start with a 2.61 ERA through five starts. "It's feeling better already," said Luebke of

Cory Luebke in the RAW
Recently, I unveiled the 2012 RAW Pitcher Ratings, preseason edition. The goal of these ratings is to strip away stats like ERA, WHIP and wins and focus on the raw skills evident in the numbers (strikeout rate, whiff rate, groundball rate, etc…). Some players, however, are destined to outperform or under perform their RAW Pitcher Ratings.
Cory Luebke, 93.5 RAW, which puts him...
#82: When should you draft Cory Luebke?
When I added this question to our list of the Top 100 Offseason Questions last fall, I thought it would be a subtle way of suggesting you target Cory Luebke as a fantasy sleeper. I definitely did not expect him to have an ADP of 137 (the 39th starting pitcher off the board), right around more established or well-known options such as Tim Hudson, Jeremy Hellickson, Shaun Marcum...
Cory Luebke Player Projection No. 73
CKey Stats:Cory Luebke established himself as enough of a big league talent that San Diego was comfortable to trade away Mat Latos. Despite getting only 6 Wins on the year (he was in the bullpen until his first start on June 26th), he pitched better than his already good 3.29 ERA would lead you to beleive. He was able to build off of his cup of coffee in the majors in '10 by...
