Geoff Blum joins Astros announcing crew

Veteran utility player Geoff Blum will join the Houston Astros’ television broadcast team as a color analyst. Blum appeared in 17 games last season while a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. For much of the season he dealt with an oblique injury. The 39-year-old infielder played with six teams during his 14-year MLB career.

According to Geoff Blum's official Twitter account, the Arizona Diamondbacks will announce later today that he will be released. The Diamondbacks signed Blum to a two-year deal back in 2010.
